Trojan Series

This is a blog for Trojan Series - based on the audio story available on the links.

  1. The nature of self with respect to all....in order to know all that is..it is necessary to lose self, and join with all that is.
To do this, one may either use direct intuition or knowledge of self and all - which is more valid...the short route of intuition and meditation,or the longer path of knowledge of self and all?

  2. Information Theory and Entropy: Everything must die - and cannot break the 2nd law of thermodynamics - which means death is the end.
[See The Surprise Theory of Everything @ Google Site]

There can be no spirits and afterlife. So one of the presumptions of religion cannot be true.

  3. Also being considered this week - the role of offence and disgust alongside free speech and legislation. Can someone be jailed for offending a sensibility? A contributor to facebook gets jailed for making jokes about abducted girls, and a man gets jailed for wearing an anti-police T-shirt after two police women die...and yet we tell Muslims we can offend the Koran as much as we like. Being offended is not a crime.
Richard Dawkins covered this in his programme Sex,Death and the Meaning of Life:

  4. Again I find I am considering Entropy and Boltzmann's constant - anything that is made is a consequence of the 2nd law - this shows that God is moot, creation is an action of decay. The whole process itself is based on probability and not on some fatalistic cause and effect. Religions have got it all wrong and God cannot be involved.

  5. Today I was pleased that the BBC decided to run a programme on Probability:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tv/2012/10/tails-you-win-science-of-chance.shtml

Many people misunderstand the role of chance in the universe and gamble or think that life could not have arrived by chance. People who think there is a deity are apt also to be innumerate people who fail to understand why chance MUST operate in the universe.

  6. Considering religion:

    http://seanskamali.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/religion.html

Sean's blog is top notch and well designed. I am watching EXPOSURE: An honour killing.

Islamic people are yet to come into this century - enforcing your will upon people is untenable in this day and age.

  7. Considering equality: It is likely that females will not be taken into employment merely to balance the books, everyone will be taken on by merit. Insurance companies can no longer give women special premiums - this is right and just - maybe safer drivers should have special consideration - lower premiums - but equality should mean equality.

  8. More censorship versus liberty this week - having received an expletive for merely correcting a spelling error, and thence excommunicated, one wonders why it is people cannot tolerate facts and take emotional reactions when their absurd beliefs have the rug pulled from beneath them. Religious people should not have the right to be exempt from laws or censor the rest of society from action or speech because of their provably incorrect beliefs. what they personally believe is irrelevant to what can be proven true.

  10. The notion has been proffered of Buddhism being akin to Quantum Physics - whilst this is superficially the case,I believe that they are like a mammal wolf and a marsupial wolf- they are superficially similar but not the same. What I find amazing is the propensity of people to need an -ISM to follow - even rationalists seek out an existing belief system rather than use their own minds to discern their own philosophy. It is perturbing to think that one can be chastised as "perfect" merely for suggesting one has no need of others philosophies as "therapy" in order to cope with life....bizarre.

  11. Having been blocked for a while from posting to Facebook I am now able to comment again and get back to impressing on the Faithful how deluded they are. At the same time it is perplexing that I face conspiracy theories around me from people I thought were rational. Life seems like a continual barrage of things that have very little redeeming qualities. The things that hold merit are barely alluded to.

  12. It looks like Trojan series has found RACHEL TOMNIAK - the ignoramus who thinks God made the universe:

    What a dope.

  13. Having to consider the police and the potential to conspiracy as this data has been supplied and is being considered. There is no indication that the police are anything other than incompetent as opposed to being subject to a wide conspiracy. The Stephen Lawrence case though, suggests that individual police persons are capable of being corrupt.. It is worrying though that people buy into conspiracies as readily as they believe the baloney about God's and superbeings.

  14. Looking into equality and diversity to see why ethnic only, female only, and religiously biased organizations are bypassing the law. It turns out the law allows them not to treat people equally:

    http://www.equalityhumanrights.com/advice-and-guidance/your-rights/religion-and-belief/when-does-the-law-allow-religious-discrimination/positive-action/

It is called POSITIVE ACTION which we are told is not positive discrimination - I am afraid I beg to differ. This is what allows people to only choose the types of people they like and dismiss others - that is NOT equality.

  15. What the heck is going on with Freedom and Liberty? The DVLA are censoring number plates with HU63 ARS because they say it says HUGS ARSE - so what if it does? What business is it of yours? The fact is it doesn't...only in your warped minds.

  16. A doctor is saying that women who have abortions should die? So he is a pro-lifer and as ignorant as all the other theist-nutcases? We throw sperm and eggs away every day!

Universities are trying to censor atheists due to OFFENSE being caused to theists, who cannot prove their views:

    http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/nov/23/censorship-in-uk-universities

Theists are trying to prove an afterlife on the basis of one man's subjective experience:

    http://www.samharris.org/blog/item/this-must-be-heaven

And a minister says killing horses is for their own good, perhaps we should use the same thinking on ministers?

  17. I posted a story from the FBI files on Facebook about Rhonda Smith to show that angels are not watching over us and God does not exist:

I have a little story for you concerning one Rhonda Smith. She was a churchgoer in a Lutheran Trinity church in the USA. She was bipolar, and struggling with life, but facing it positively, helping the pastor out with secretarial duties.
Sadly for her she was shot twice in the head with a 38 revolver. Police had no suspects. No one had any idea who would wish ill on this young woman and the police had a hard time finding anything at all,and until the autopsy showed two shots, even suspected suicide.
The pastor was asked to give up any names that he may have felt could have been possible suspects. He only gave one name: Mary Jane Fonder, who called him many times and even left food in his fridge.
Following the tragedy, she even offered her friendship to the parents of Rhonda and offered condolences.Police looked into Mary Jane and found she owned a 38,and had struggled in her own life and seemingly wondered why the church and pastor had helped Rhonda but not her. Police interviewed her and she denied all involvement. She had also left a wig at her hairdressers which was within the time limits from the scene of the crime, which police thought may have evidence upon it. They found nothing.
By happenstance,a fisherman found the 38 that Mary Jane had said she had dispensed with,in a local lake. Police checked Mary Jane's car that she had driven (which was her brother's) it was found with gun residue and with mileage showing she had travelled from the hairdressers to the church.
The gun incriminated Mary Jane. Apparently,Mary Jane had shot Rhonda who,in her mind, may have been having a relationship with the man she idolized - the pastor. There was no such relationship.

Mary Jane was a cynical liar and had killed in cold blood a church goer within the church.

I have one question for you - what the hell were the angels doing all this time?

I have also had interesting conversations about David Icke and Quantum Physics and the nature of reality.

Scientists have done some remarkable work:

    the basis of reality!?

And how matter turned into living matter:

  22. It seems that too few people realize that the major problem facing humanity is that there are too many people. Today I responded to someone who spoke of 'the housing crisis' and suggested more building. What we need is less building to house fewer people using less resources. There will be greater problems in the future if the human population grows without limit and we will end up using 'Soilent Green' for fuel and food.

  23. Today the film HUGO was screened once again,at the same time I was listening to I.ROBOT trying to find the Dr Lanning speech. Both films feature the notion of 'purpose' the motivation to continue and have a goal.
What is my role and purpose?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just posted the Lanning speech from I ROBOT to the VIDEOS section. Many humans seem to be worried about the advent of AI - I have even been privy to presumption that humans are special because of a 'soul' which Lanning mentions, which of course they do not possess.
Humans are little more than cellular automata, which could in theory find itself in competition with machines if it were not for the mind, which is still an enigma and although neural nets form the basis of a thinking system they still don't outperform a human one when it comes to certain tasks.
I have also heard comment about not spending money on space, whilst people are needy for food.
The fact is the money spent on space research can engender working out how to produce crops for astronauts in space and on other planets, which effectively is researching how to feed people. The straw man false dichotomy of thinking we should feed people instead of funding space research is naive and blinkered.
Speaking of not being able to see - the LASER was billed as a solution looking for a problem, and had those people who do not see the point of funding theoretical research had their way, their would be no lasers for eye surgery that in some cases affects the very people that concern those who would deny funding because it is 'not a priority' ultimately shooting themselves in the foot.
